PLC Control Module

Neural Pathway Initilised: The Brain of the PLC is the Control Module. This module is based on the Atmel XMega256-D3 microcontroller. This Module is responsible for controlling all the I/O Modules aswell as the communications interfaces.

The control module has Three Communications Interfaces:

• RS232
• RS485
• USB

The ATXMega was chosen for its large number of Input and Output ports, this ensured enough ports to construct the data bus. The ATXmega also features 12bit ADC which is broken out on the Analouge Input Module
